Classes at the Arthur School of Art are considered day care rather than art camps because the studio is located at my home, not open to the general public and the class sizes are very limited.
The number of participants is limited to 4 registrants/week (my two children will also be participating, 6 students altogether). The studio and facilities will be thoroughly cleaned/sanitized in accordance with Ontario Public Health requirements. As often as possible, students will be assigned individual art supplies (markers, scissors, glue, pencils, erasers) in colour-coded containers to prevent excessive sharing.
There will be a different theme each week, and the projects will be designed to incorporate aspects of the Ontario Curriculum (science, math, social studies, language arts, geography, history) to ensure that learning in all subjects as well as art, continues into the summer!
Daycare will begin after lunch (12:30pm-4:30pm) to limit contact while eating. Students are asked to bring a snack and water bottle, and snack time will be physically distanced in a picnic outside.
Hand washing, sanitizing of common surfaces and physical distancing will take place throughout the afternoon.
Daycare is Monday-Thursday to allow for 3 days between sessions for cleaning/sanitizing all surfaces.
If any participant develops illness, all parents will be notified as soon as possible. In the event of cancellation of a class (or classes) due to illness, refunds will be provided for missed sessions. In addition, if at any time parents wish to withdraw their child from Art School Daycare, refunds will be given for remaining missed classes.
The Arthur School of Art is unique in that it is home based, accommodates only a few students and is not open to the general public. Coming out of this very challenging and unique time, I am in a position to offer art classes to children who are in need of learning, friendships and new experiences. We can have fun and make art safely this summer if we all work together!
All children's summer art programs are fully registered at this time.
I will be adding courses in the fall and please contact me if there is a class you would like to see! I am looking forward to a summer of making, learning and playing!
